Like his characters, James was once an aspiring singer who had a fascinating idea for an elaborate story brewing in his head.  He shared this with a close  friend, and encouraged by him, decided to pursue literature. Little did he know that moment would become the beginning of it all.  

 

Not formally considered a writer at the time, his passion to create was unleashed, reminded by his friends words, “You aren’t a writer until you start writing,” he picked up a pen and did just that. 

 

You can still find him singing for churches though, and preforming melodic caroling gigs during the holiday season.  James currently resides in Los Angeles where he’s been for 8 years.

Born in Boston where he lived until the age of 5, James and his family moved to Galveston, Texas in the summer of 1982.  For the next 13 years, James went through his schooling in various places, bouncing between both private and public schools.  Once accepted to the University of Miami and matriculated there for five years, he began studying in the field of engineering but ultimately decided on his passion for vocal performance.  While in his last year of schooling, he taught voice and piano lessons at a renowned private performing arts studio. Having lived all over the country, from New York to Atlanta, and finally to Los Angeles.  He now considers L.A. his home.
